"Through the years I have had the privilege of drawing on the wisdom of a variety of leaders and ministry consultants. None were more helpful and insightful than Karen Hurston. I never cease to be amazed at her wisdom and understanding of the local church. I can not recommend highly enough her public ministry or her endeavors as a consultant and aid to churches and pastors."

Hurston Ministries Offers Consultation
In Four Areas:
Corporate prayer and staff prayer concerns How to enhance corporate prayer, both during regular worship services and corporate prayer events. The personal and family prayer lives of pastoral staff members are also frequent concerns. Patterns uncovered in individual interviews are addressed in both personal and/or group discussions.
Cell group/small group systems
There are three basic types of small group systems and six types of small group models. Each system tends to generate differing congregational impact, results, and issues for pastoral staffing. For a church considering the start of a cell group/small group system, a minimum one to three day consultation is required. For a church with a specific problem or difficulty with a cell group/small group system, a minimum three to eight hour consultation is essential.
Hurston Ministries also tailors consultation to the specific needs of the church. In many situations this includes individual interviews with each pastoral staff member involved and group interaction with key staff members, followed by a final synopsis. In some church settings, a congregational survey and lengthier strategy are included.
Visitation
This unique approach to pastoral care requires pastoral staff to model the same prayer visits they expect lay leaders to implement. Consultation with staff is needed in addition to any prayer visitation seminar done with lay leaders.
How to Develop Pastor-Led Visitation
This two-hour overview is necessary for a pastoral staff desirous of modeling visitation implemented by lay leaders. This overview provides a smooth flowing "church-wide" visitation thrust.
Church Growth
Three popular church growth sessions often used during consultation include:

NOTE: Time needed for consultation depends on the type and the depth of topic desired, as well as the breadth of audience (senior pastor only, pastoral staff only, board and/or committee/s, and/or congregation segments).
At times, a church staff will desire this eight-hour seminar:

"Why waste precious time looking for answers in all the wrong places? When you put my friend of 25 years, Dr. Karen Hurston, on your consulting and planning team, you just maximized ministry. God has gifted her with information because God has allowed her to see more in her lifetime than almost all church leaders have ever seen and will ever see in two lifetimes. Do yourself and your church a Kingdom favor, be Kingdom surprised and help the church you lead be all that God intends you to be in this lifetime. Time is too brief to waste it chasing good dreams rather than God's best for you and your people. Be blessed!"
